BELADIN: Two laptops were stolen at a village library near here recently.

According to library staffer who wants to be known as Surisa, the robbery incident at the library was not new; the library had been broken into at least once before.

“As soon as I opened the library door (on Tuesday), I was shocked to see the items in the library scattered.

“Later I realised that two laptops were missing. In addition, a phone charger, a wireless microphone, a piggy bank, a bucket as well as a bottle of hand soap were also stolen.

“I’m not sure when the theft happened – maybe Sunday or Monday – because the two days were a holiday,” she told reporters yesterday.

According to her, this is the second time items were stolen from the library.

“I used to notice the disappearance of brooms and buckets that were left outside.

“After the disappearance of a dishwasher and some belian wood (located at the corridor) not long ago, only then I went to the police.

“I believe the perpetrator is the same person,” she explained.

Surisa added that she had filed a police report for the recent burglary case and hoped that appropriate action could be taken immediately as it had caused the library to suffer losses.

She also called on the villagers to cooperate in fighting crime in the area before it gets out of hand.
