Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin said coordination between the government agencies involved was at maximum level to ensure the success of the biennial event.

“Preparations for LIMA ‘19 are proceeding well, as at today (Sunday), it’s about 95 per cent ready. Coordination between government agencies involved and the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) is at maximum level, I am confident all will be settled in less than 30 hours,” he said.

He was met after witnessing the rehearsal for the final maritime segment at Resorts World Langkawi (RWL).

Also present was Navy chief Admiral Datuk Mohd Reza Mohd Sany.

Earlier, Zulkifli and Air Force chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang witnessed the final rehearsal of the air show at Langkawi International Airport this morning.

Commenting further, Zulkifli said he was satisfied after seeing the final rehearsal of both air and maritime segments.

He said the air segment presented by a Royal Malaysian Air Force team and Russian Knights aerobatic team from the Russian Air Force as well as performances by other teams would be exciting for members of the public.

“For the maritime segment, LIMA ’19 could integrate all maritime enforcement agencies to show their capabilities as well as their close cooperation,” he said.

Zulkifli also called on the people to take advantage of the school holidays to watch the biennial event here.

“The air and maritime shows should be felt by the people themselves, it is very different from watching on television,” he said.

LIMA’19 will be held from March 26 to 30 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) and RWL. – Bernama
