Limbang turns green; five localities were put under EMCO

KUCHING: Limbang district finally turned green after recording zero positive cases in the past 14 days, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

With the change in status today (July 17), Sarawak now has three green zones.

Song district also changed its status from red to orange after recording 33 Covid-19 positive cases in the last two weeks.

This brings the state’s numbers to 21 red status districts, four orange status districts, and 12 yellow status districts.

On another note, the SDMC also declared that five localities were put under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The committee said that Multiocean Workers Dormitory, No.60 Jalan Industri in Sarikei district had undergone EMCO from July 16 until Aug 1.

Meanwhile, a longhouse in Bintulu district — Rumah (Rh) Belayong Buang, KM22 Jalan Bintulu/Tatau — had also started its EMCO on a similar date but will end on July 29.

Rh Keroh, Sumgai Sebatu, Ulu Mador, Bintangor in Meradong district will undergo EMCO from today (July 17) until Aug 2.

However, two villages namely, Kampung Pasir Hilir and Kampung Garung in Lundu district and Kuching district respectively will start their EMCO from tomorrow (July 18) until July 31.

As of today (Jul 17), the SDMC announced the end of the EMCO in four localities.

On July 16, the rental room above V-12 shop Assyakirin Commercial Centre in Bintulu district ended its EMCO.

Rh Ngelai, Sungai Stok in Sarikei district; Rh Amban, Sungai Rian, Kabo in Saratok; and rental room above Lau Hoi Chew shop, Parkcity Commercial Centre in Bintulu district ended their EMCO today (July 17).
