Limbang turns red, six more localities under EMCO

KUCHING: The district of Limbang today joined 29 other districts in Sarawak as a red zone district after 70 local transmission cases were recorded in the past 14 days.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 update said the newly declared red zone district was previously an orange zone.

The other districts categorised as red zone were Meradong, Beluru, Sarikei, Lubok Antu, Kapit, Pakan, Kanowit, Song, Belaga, Pusa, Betong, Tebedu, Dalat, Selangau, Sri Aman, Asajaya, Subis, Mukah, Simunjan, Tatau, Lundu, Saratok, Bau, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Marudi and Sebauh still remained as a orange zone, while Kabong, Matu, Daro, Bukit Mabong, Telang Usan, Julau, and Lawas remained as yellow.

Tanjung Manis is the only green zone as no new local cases had been reported in the past two weeks.

Meanwhile, the committee revealed six more localities have been put under enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

They are Rh. Renga anak Layang, Sungai Senggam, Jalan Sebungan Sebauh and Rh. Ugop anak Umpin, Nanga Sigu, Pandan in Sebauh district as well as Rh. Sating anak Bundan, KM 67, Jalan Bintulu/Miri in Bintulu district which will undergo EMCO from Aug 30 to Sept 12.

Rh. Manai, San Panjai in Bintulu and Rh. Manggi, Kampung Menuang Baru in Lubok Antu district will undergo EMCO from Aug 31 to Sept 13.

Pekan Sebangan, Kampung Lutong and Kampung Menek, Sebuyau in Simunjan district will be put under EMCO starting tomorrow (Sept 1) to 14.
