MUKAH: There is a very limited supply of Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit (for self-test) available in the market here.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Mukah branch head Salihin Den, said only 200 sets of the rapid test kit (RTK) arrived at a pharmacy here on Friday (Sept 3) with the sale price capped at RM19.90 per set.

He said local pharmacies here have no problem in complying with the gazetted price of RM19.90 per set, which takes effect on Sept 5.

Salihin said prior to Friday there was no supply of the RTK at all the pharmacies here, while stocks of between 2,000-5,000 sets were expected to arrive in two or three days time, based on their order.

“It is understood that the suppliers are in the process of adjusting to the gazetted prices,” he said.

Salihin revealed that the ministry began checking the supply and price of RTK here since Aug 15.
