SERIAN: Participants of the People’s Livestock Project from Tarat thanked the state government for its continuous efforts to enhance the lives of rural folk.

They received livestock and certificates under the Agriculture Facilitation Programme from Assistant Agriculture Native Land and Regional Development Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee In at a ceremony in Kampung Chupak here yesterday.

Bousher Larbu, 52, from Kampung Skuduk, is one of the 13 participants who received a certificate of offer for the swiftlets project.

“With this certificate, I am now able to start my project soon, along with the help from the Department Of Veterinary Services Sarawak (JVS),” he told the press after the ceremony.

Rimus Smimist, 62, from Kampung Chupak, was one of the 17 participants who received their certificate of offer for the poultry project.

“I am excited to start this poultry project as I have my own land for all of my farming activities, including pineapple plantation.

“This initiative by the state government can increase the interest of rural people in working their land and earning their own income,” she said.
