BELAWAI: Belawai Beach was packed with local and foreign visitors during the Lan Makan Festival organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac).

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) statement, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the programme was aimed at boosting the local economy.

“Many programmes we hold are to help the economy grow. Seeing that it has been well received, the basic facilities here must be improved to draw more visitors.”

He said this at the programme last Saturday (Nov 12).

Meanwhile, Tanjong Manis Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Yusuf Abd Wahab expressed his gratitude to caretaker Motac minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri for realising the hopes and dreams of the people here, which is to promote local products more widely.
