KUCHING: Local handicraft products can be a very valuable collection if they are marketed with the right methods, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

He said this to reporters during his visit to Tanoti House at Jalan Tabuan here, on Friday (Oct 22).

“If a handicraft product is presented in the right way, it can be a very valuable product because it is exclusive and cannot be found anywhere.

“In this regard, it is hoped that the Cultural Economy Development Agency (Cendana) can promote the handicraft products to penetrate the international market,” he said.

At the same time, Annuar also commended the initiatives taken by Cendana in lifting and connecting handicraft product manufacturers in the interior of Sarawak even though they are based in Kuala Lumpur.

He also hoped that the agency could help and guide handicraft product manufacturers by providing assistance through various grants provided by the ministry.
