KUCHING: A local woman was fined RM3,800 by the Magistrate’s Court here for possessing methamphetamine weighing 0.37 grams in February.
Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi fined Zur Kamiena Aida Kamal, 31, after she pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
The court ordered her to serve four months in jail if she failed to pay the fine.
She and an acquaintance were charged with possessing the prohibited substance in a room above the shop building in Jalan Matang, at about 8.50 am on February 7.
The prosecution of the case was handled by Prosecuting Officer Inspector Nur Syafiqa Nyaie Ilin while the accused was not represented by a lawyer.
