MIRI: Police recovered nine out of 50 stolen cell phones (Oppo Reno 5F) with the arrest of two local men on Tuesday evening.

The arrest was made following a report lodged by the manager of a mobile company after he discovered that 50 units of Oppo Reno 5F cell phones valued at RM60,000 were missing from a premises in Permyjaya Technology Park, believed to be stolen last month.

The phones were supposed to be delivered to Brunei, before one of the company’s workers allegedly stole them. The worker, aged 31, was detained on September 29 after his employer uncovered the incident via a surveillance camera.

His detention led to the arrest of a second suspect on October 5 in Bandar Baru Permyjaya, where the police recovered one unit of Oppo Reno 5F, believed to be stolen from the premises.

Police believed that the man, aged 51 had colluded with the first suspect to sell the stolen phones.
