SIBU: Consumers in Sibu can lodge complaints or report to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry’s Office if there is no reduction in the prices of goods after the implementation of the zero Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate.

Lanang Member of Parliament Alice Lau Kiong Yieng said the prices of goods should be cheaper after the GST was abolished since early this month.

“From my own experience, there is a change in the prices of goods after the zero GST rate was enforced. But there are also some goods with unaltered prices because before June 1, no GST was imposed on these items such as medicine,” she told a news conference at the Sibu DAP headquarters in Taman Rajang here yesterday.

Consumers can contact the Sibu Office at Level 1, Wisma Persekutuan Block 3, Jalan Persiaran Brooke at line 084-329202; local call centre (03-8000 8000); Strategic Information and Operation Centre toll free line (03-8882 6245/6088); smart phone application ‘Ez ADU’ or email to e-aduan@kpdnkk.gov.my.
