DEBAK: Local residents can now rejoice as their wish for an automated teller machine (ATM) has finally come true.

Community and Wellbeing Development Deputy Minister Mohammad Razi Sitam expressed his gratitude and recently had the opportunity to avail himself of the service.

Razi, who is the Saribas assemblyman, said their persistent efforts, spanning back to 2013, have “finally yielded tangible results”.

The accomplishment, he said, underscores the government’s sincere commitment to addressing the needs of residents living in rural areas, adding that the ATM service signifies the close partnership between the Malay Welfare Trust Board of Debak (Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Melayu Debak) and Agrobank.

“This collaboration serves as a testament to the crucial link between banking institutions and the local community, working together to provide essential services to the people,” he said.

Razi also conveyed the state government’s intention to boost the economy of rural residents by providing various facilities.
