KUCHING: Four-term MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang is geared up to defend his Kanowit seat yet again come the 15th General Election (GE15) but is leaving it to the leadership.

He said he had made known his wish to Party Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) of which he is deputy president.

However, he declined to say if the party had finalised its list of proposed candidates for the election.

“We will leave that (decision) to the party later,” said Aaron, who is also Deputy Minister of Health, to reporters after officiating at the 25th Malaysian Medical Social Work Officers’ (PKSP) Conference yesterday (Sept 28).

He served as Datuk Amar Leo Moggie’s political secretary prior to his election to parliament.

Aaron went for the Kanowit seat in the 2004 General Election when Moggie decided not to contest.

He retained the Kanowit seat in GE12 (2008) by winning unopposed.

Aaron successfully defended Kanowit in GE13 (2013) after defeating PKR candidate Thomas Laja Besi, and he continued to serve as the MP for Kanowit in GE14 after defeating PKR candidate Satu Anchom.
