SARIKEI: The Sarawak government has approved an allocation of RM50,000 for the improvement of the drainage system at Rumah Ledi Anom, Sungai Meradong, Bintangor.

Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said that the project has been approved under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocation for the Meradong constituency.

“The project is currently awaiting the contractor appointment process, and we hope that it can be implemented in the near future.

“The project is being closely monitored by the Sarikei Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID).

“We hope that this project can address and resolve issues related to the planned and systematic drainage system in the area and alleviate water overflow,” he said in his speech during his visit to the longhouse last Thursday.

Ding hoped that any contractors involved in the project would carry out their tasks and responsibilities diligently.

“Ensure that the project is completed within the specified timeframe and that the work meets the established standards.
