KUCHING: Rumah Ubie Mujap in Kampung Kuala Ridan in Marudi will be included in the state government’s Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) project.
Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the project for the longhouse has been approved and will be implemented soon.
“I hope that the projects planned here would be implemented smoothly. Congratulations to the residents of Rumah Ubie Mujap,” he said in a Facebook post on Friday.
Earlier, he visited the village to monitor the project site of a new road leading to the longhouse.
He said the new road is developed through Projek Rakyat and will be built stretching from Kampung Pemindahan, Marudi.
Later in the day, the Marudi assemblyman met with a taxi driver in Marudi to settle matters pertaining to the latter’s inherited land.
“The issue has been resolved after an intervention was done in his application.
“I appeal to the villagers who are facing the same issue to direct their complaints to the appropriate channels to ensure the problems faced can be resolved,” he said.
Also on Friday, Penguang presented assistance to two recipients in Marudi under the Sejambak Kasih programme held by the Miri Community Welfare Department.
He said for Marudi, there are 15 recipients for the assistance in total.
