KUCHING: The residents of Rumah Ramli Udau and Rumah Rasah Ak Dangon in the Murum constituency who are affected by the lockdown order received food assistance to their longhouses.

Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon said the lockdown was due to a recent Covid-19 case in the area.

“Thanks to the Bintulu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) through the Bintulu Division Social Welfare Department for sending the food aid to the residents.

“Rh Ramli Udau and Rh Rasah Ak Dangon are under lockdown due to the Covid-19 case involving our residents here,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (May 2).

Chukpai also called on the longhouse residents to cooperate fully with the frontliners to curb the spread of the Covid-19. He also urged them to fully comply with the rules set during the lockdown order.

“Together we pray that all these Covid-19 patients recover quickly and we hope that there will be no increase in new cases,” he said.

The assemblyman also thanked the frontliners for their sacrifices in containing the pandemic.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all our frontliners who are committed and have sacrificed to keep us all safe from Covid-19.

“Let us continue to pray that God will continue to protect and bless them,” he said.
