The waters level at Rumah Changgai reached up to one metre.

MIRI: Three longhouses in Ulu Niah have been placed under watch for flash floods following heavy rainfall that occurred on Saturday.

The longhouses affected are Rumah Steven Kedu, Rumah Changgai and Rumah Belili.

During an inspection carried out on all three longhouses on Sunday by firefighters from Batu Niah, a total of 176 doors were flooded with water levels reaching up to 1.5 metres.

As at press time, no evacuation operations were carried out as the situation was still under control, said Batu Niah fire station chief Francis Aceh.

Currently, the road is accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles only.

Water level reached up to five feet.
