KUCHING: Many Christmas celebrants are rushing back to their home towns or villages to celebrate the festival with their families.

New Sarawak Tribune was at the Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal here yesterday to interview some of these celebrants.

Jurina Michael, 21, from SibuJaya, said that she was excited to be home for Christmas.

“I am studying in Unimas. Since it is our semester break, I am going home for a week, she said, adding that her family had done their Christmas shopping.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Anya Gabriel from Ngabang, Kalimantan, who was working at an aluminium factory in Bintawa, said he would go home once a year during Christmas.

“Celebrating Christmas with my family is very important to me. I am very excited to meet them,” he exclaimed.

Despite the six-hour trip back to Ngabang, Kalimantan, Anya said it did not matter as long as he could celebrate Christmas together with his family.

Meanwhile, students Peter Tat and Stanley Alin, who have just started studying at a college here, said that they were returning to their hometowns.
