KUCHING: The executive producer and director of the award-winning Ola Bola The Musical, Puan Seri Tiara Jacquelina, is looking forward to future collaborations with the Sarawak government.

The accomplished actress and film and musical theatre producer said she loves Sarawak and looks forward to working with the state government.

“Sarawak is so lucky to have such a progressive and supportive government which believes in the importance of the performing arts,” she said when met by reporters during the first show of the musical at Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya here on Friday night.

Tiara, who is the founder of The Enfiniti Academy of Musical Theatre and Performing Arts, said as her job is to direct and mentor in the academy, the collaboration will bring performing arts in Malaysia to greater heights.

She said the crowd in Kuching was the most amazing that the team had ever performed for.

“I am overwhelmed as we have never performed for such a big audience. There were about 2,500 people, and we are so thankful,” she said happily.

She said the energy from the crowd was what made the performers put in 100 percent of their effort and commitment.

“I really felt it when they were cheering, that was really worth it.

“That’s the whole vision of this Ola Bola, to have everyone celebrate Merdeka and spirit of Malaysia. That is what we felt here in Sarawak,” she said.

Tiara thanked the Sarawak government for believing in the show and bringing it to the people here.

“We are very thankful that we have support from the government to get the people to watch the show for free in celebration of Merdeka Day.”
