SIBU: A lorry driver was found dead after he was pinned beneath the bucket of his vehicle during a daily routine inspection at Lorong Tun Ahmad Zaidi 1, Jalan Lada, here today.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call on the incident around 10.05 am.
Firemen from the Sibu station, along with the police and paramedics, were promptly deployed to the scene.
On arrival, they found the victim pinned underneath the lorry bucket. He is believed to be conducting an inspection of the lorry.
Extrication works were carried out to free the victim. But paramedics confirmed that the victim identified, Young Leh Kui, 57, died at the scene.
His body was later taken to Sibu Hospital for a post-mortem.
