TANJUNG MANIS: A lorry driver sustained a broken right leg after his lorry skidded and crashed into a tree along Jalan Tanjung Manis yesterday.
The accident happened at around 9 am and firemen from Tanjung Manis station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the lorry landed on its roof by the roadside and the driver had been rescued out of the vehicle by passers-by.
The team attended to the injured victim and stabilised him by installing a cervical collar around his neck and a lower limb cast on the broken leg.
He was handed over to the paramedics to be taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Before concluding the operation, the team removed the fallen tree and cleared the road from the accident debris.
