LPG blast kills, injures in Siburan flat

SIBURAN: An explosion of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder on the fourth floor of the RPR apartment at Batu Gong has resulted in one death, while another person was left injured today (Sep 2).

According to the state Fire and Rescue Department, after receiving an emergency call at 11.02 am, a team of firefighters from the Siburan and Batu Lintang fire stations was promptly dispatched to the scene.

Upon their arrival, they discovered that a fire had already fully engulfed a master bedroom, causing 80 per cent damage to the unit.

The husband had lost his life in the incident. Additionally, his wife experienced shortness of breath due to asthma, and another victim, a 16-year-old, sustained a minor hand injury.

The fire was successfully extinguished by 11.20 am, and the body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.
