MIRI: A man had a close encounter with death after his car burst into flames following an accident nearby a traffic light in Coco Cabana, Marina Utama in Miri on early this morning (Jan 19).
The car reportedly caught fire after it skidded nearby the traffic light.
A team of firemen from Miri central fire station was deployed to the scene upon receiving an emergency call on the incident around 12.53am.
They managed to totally extinguish the blaze at 1.01am.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operation centre, the car was completely destroyed in the incident.
Passers-by helped the injured driver to get out of his burning car.
The victim reportedly sustained injuries on his right leg and was taken to Miri Hospital for further treatment.
