KUCHING: The steering committee on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) has been extended until October.

The matter was disclosed by Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali at a ground-breaking ceremony for a new multipurpose
hall in Taman Sukma yesterday.

She pointed out that the committee has not reached a decision, thereby agreeing that the
committee will be extended until the end of Oct, after which a meeting will
be held.

Meanwhile, it was a memorable evening here at Taman Sukma as its residents will soon have a new landmark in the area. The new multi-purpose hall which costs RM5million and can accommodate 1,000 people is expected to be completed in a year’s time.

Hasidah, who is also Samariang assemblywoman said the hall was a gift to her constituents who need it to carry out community-based activities.

“This hall is constructed from the residents’ requests and the funds were allocated by the chief minister under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP),” she said.
