Mador cluster ends

KUCHING: The Mador Cluster involving Meradong district in Sarikei Division has officially ended on Saturday (Jan 30).

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the State Health Department declared the cluster closed after no new Covid-19 positive cases were reported there in the last 28 days.

“This cluster is categorised as a cross-district cluster where the index case of this cluster that is, Case 1,115 was detected through the screening of individuals returning from Covid-19 high risk areas,” it said today.

Meanwhile, there are still 10 active Covid-19 clusters in the state.

The Pasai Cluster in Sibu remains as the biggest active cluster with an addition of 97 cases bringing the total number of cases there to 1,902.

The other cluster is Tabong Cluster in Bau with an addition of two cases today, bringing the total number of cases in this cluster to nine.

Rakut Cluster in Miri also saw an addition of eight cases. This brought the total number of cases to 115.

The other seven clusters did not record any new positive Covid-19 cases. These are Indah Riang Cluster in Kuching with 20 cases, Bedayan Cluster in Serian (14 cases), Bukit Sekubong Cluster in Sebauh (30), Jelita Cluster in Miri (53), Tabuan Keranji Cluster in Kuching (15), Bah Sayap Cluster in Miri (96), and Stutong Cluster (41 cases).
