MUKAH: Communities, especially in rural areas, should make the best use of the assistance channelled to them to improve their lives.
Jemoreng assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said the government was always looking for ways for the population to improve their economic status, especially through agriculture.
“The government is now ready to help in terms of equipment that costs a lot of money. As participants, all of you should do your best,” he said at an agriculture facilitation programme here recently.
He explained that for Matu and Igan districts, the government had allocated over RM1 million that would benefit more than 111 participants.
“It is the goal of the government departments and agencies to see the participants succeed. Besides, it would also set an example to other residents.
“Any assistance from other aspects may also be considered in the future to improve any shortcomings.”
Meanwhile, Juanda also reminded the Ketua Masyarakat and Ketua Kaum to list out the needs or assistance for the farmers in their respective areas.
“Don’t miss out on a single farmer’s name though help may not be given immediately as assistance is given is based on the current budget and supplies in the departments involved.
“This is also in line with the state government’s focus to become a food exporter. That is why agricultural activities are important.”
