Make Pandelela role model among youth

KUCHING: Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar suggested that Datuk Pandelela Rinong Pamg be made a role model among the youth.

“Her impressive achievements will serve as an encouragement and inspiration to the younger generation to apply perseverance in achieving success without limits,” he said in a statement yesterday (Oct 11).

The Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) added that Pandelela’s dedication and success were a source of great pride for Malaysians, particularly the people of Sarawak.

He congratulated Pandelela on her Darjah Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) which carried the title of Datuk.

The national diver received the award from the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in conjunction with his 85th birthday on Saturday (Oct 9).

“I would like to congratulate and thank Pandelela for her unwavering commitment and efforts in carving Malaysia’s name on the international stage.

“Congratulations, Datuk Pandelela Rinong!” added Wan Junaidi.

He hoped the recognition would motivate the diver to achieve greater success in the future.
