Malaysian Consul in Pontianak calls on Taib

KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy visit from the Malaysian Consul in Pontianak, Indonesia, Azizul Zekri Abdul Rahman in Demak Jaya, today.

The courtesy visit was Azizul’s first visit to Tun Taib since being appointed as Malaysian Consul in Pontianak, Indonesia.

Azizul when met by the media after the courtesy visit said that he had just served for nine months as the Malaysian Consul in Pontianak, Indonesia.

According to him, the meeting was to inform several planning frameworks to increase friendship in addition to bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Pontianak from economic, social and cultural aspects.
