SIBU: Police arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend after she left him.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement on Saturday said that the police received a report lodged by a 35-year woman on Aug 4.

“The woman claimed that at about 7.30pm on Monday (Aug 1), the suspect came looking for her at her rented room at Jalan Theng Kung Suk,” he said.

The suspect who was in a fit of anger and armed with a knife, kicked the door until it opened.

“The suspect pointed the knife at her and threatened to kill her.

“A struggle between both ensued which resulted in the woman suffering injuries on her hand and back,” said Zulkipli.

The suspect was arrested after the victim filed a police report and the case is being investigated under Section 324 and 506 of the Penal Code.
