MIRI: A man was arrested by Bruneian Immigration officers on Monday (Sept 21) after crashing into two border posts at the Sungai Tujoh Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) here.

District deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol said the incident occurred around 6.30pm at the Malaysia-Brunei border.

Prior to the incident, the car driven by the 33-year-old suspect, believed to be mentally unsound, was coming from Miri and seen approaching one of the Malaysian Immigration control post counters.

“The complainant, who is an Immigration officer stationed at the control post in Sungai Tujoh, saw the suspect driving in a suspicious manner, he was not wearing a shirt and talking to himself.

“The complainant tried to stop the suspect but the suspect rammed through the control post and drove on into the neighbouring country,” Supt Sabri said in a statement.

The suspect was detained by Bruneian authorities for further action.
