MIRI: The Customs Department in this district on Wednesday evening confiscated 13,224 box of cigarettes and 106.18 litres of beer valued at RM3,444.81 with unpaid duties worth RM20,187.28 during a raid on a premises in Tudan here.
During the 5.20pm raid, the team detained a man believed to be a worker on the premises, to assist in their investigation. The team also found more
contrabands inside the shop, said state Customs director Datuk Sharifah Halimah Tuanku Taha in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 135 (1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967 for possession of goods not approved by Customs.
