BINTULU: A man was arrested for having over RM400,000 worth of various drugs in his possession on Tuesday (March 19).
Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) director CP Datuk Khaw Kok Chin said in a statement that Sarawak NCID executed the arrest around 11am.
The 25-year-old suspect was detained, and authorities seized 10kg of suspected methamphetamine from inside his vehicle.
“Following the suspect’s guidance, the team went to a shophouse and seized 170 packets of Ecstasy juice powder and 577g of Ecstasy pills.
“The total drug seizure value from both locations is RM412,198.72.
“Also confiscated in the operation; a Mercedes-Benz valued at RM150,000 and a Rolex watch worth RM37,000.”
CP Khaw said the seized drugs were intended for the local market and could have fed the addiction of 68,923 individuals.
The police intend to seek remand for the suspect under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code on Wednesday (March 20).
