SIBURAN: A local man was arrested for drug possession in his home at Kampung Siburan, Jalan Kuching-Serian on Monday (Nov 16).
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the arrest by a Padawan NCID team took place around 11.15am.
When the team arrived, they were greeted by the 40-year-old man and house inspections were conducted immediately.
“These led to the discovery of a box containing two large transparent plastic packets and 12 small transparent plastic packets; all the packets contained crystal lumps suspected to be syabu.
“The suspect and the drugs weighing 52.15g were seized and taken to the police station for further actions,” he said.
Aidil added background checks found that the suspect had two previous criminal records related to drugs.
During interrogation, the suspect said he collected the drugs from a man called ‘Put’ twice via the dumping method.
Aidil said the suspected drug supplier drove a silver Toyota Vios to a bus stop near SK Siburan Baru to dump the (drug) package, which was collected by the suspect on Sunday around 11.30pm.
The suspect will be remanded to facilitate police investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Efforts to track down ‘Put’ are currently underway.
