Man arrested for injuring father with knife


SARIKEI: A 21-year-old man was arrested for injuring his father with a knife last Friday (Aug 27).

The incident occurred at their home in Selalang here at 10.20pm following a quarrel between the suspect and his 53-year-old father.

In the heated exchange, the suspect took a knife and stabbed his father.

The victim managed to go to the hospital for immediate treatment for his injuries on his left shoulder.

Sarikei district police chief Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang, who confirmed the case, said the suspect was arrested the next day (Aug 28) after a police report was lodged at 1.10am.

The suspect is currently remanded for four days to facilitate investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
