BAU: An unemployed man was nabbed for possessing drugs during a raid at a residential house at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Jambusan here today (Sept 1).
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the raid was carried out at 10.45am by a team of Bau narcotics police.
Upon inspecting the house, the team found the 20-year-old man and a transparent plastic packet containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu.
“The drugs, weighing 0.52g with a street value of RM60, was seized as evidence.
“The man and drugs were taken to Bau police station for further action,” he said in a statement.
The suspect, who was found to have a past criminal record, was tested positive for drugs.
Poge added that the remand application for the man will be made today (Sept 2) to facilitate police investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
