MIRI: Police arrested a 26-year-old man who allegedly punched and threatened another over noise pollution at Jalan Nahkoda Gambar on Sept 15.
District police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect was taken in around 10pm the next day upon receipt of a report from the complainant claiming to have been threatened and punched by a stranger man.
“It is believed that the suspect was annoyed by noises from a motorcycle belonging to the complainant’s friend,” he said.
On this sort of situation, Hakemal advised the public not to take matters into their own hands as it may endanger themselves and others.
The public should report any criminal conduct to the police immediately for appropriate legal action.
