Man attempting to peddle over 380 grammes of drugs at Sibu nightspot nabbed

SIBU: A 37-year-old local man was arrested with 381.38 grammes of various drugs in a raid conducted by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Sibu district police headquarters at a nightspot in Jalan Lanang here on Sunday night.

Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the raid took place around 12.20 am, where the raiding team found 10 plastic packets of various sizes labelled “Juice Master” suspected to contain Ecstasy pills weighing approximately 376.2 grammes during the inspection of the man.

“Also found were three transparent plastic packets containing crystals weighing approximately 3.78 grammes suspected to be Ketamine, and four Ecstasy pills weighing a total of 1.4 grammes. The current estimated value of the seizure is RM5,101,” he said.

He added that a urine screening test conducted on the suspect yielded negative results, and the police have obtained a seven-day remand order for the man to be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug distribution. — BERNAMA
