Man buys iPhone 14 Pro Max by paying just RM883.30

KUCHING: A man in his 30s has recently purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max worth RM6,299 by paying just RM883.30 – using reward points he collected with GrabPay wallet.

According to SAYS, the man who is identified as Ng, uploaded screenshots of him exchanging 893,590 points for RM5,415.70 in purchasing credit on the Machines online store by simply paying with GrabPay.

“(My) GrabPay points were still a little short to exchange for a free iPhone 14 Pro Max. (I got to) keep working hard,” he posted in a local community Facebook group for iPhone users.

The post has gained so much traction among Facebook users, with nearly 3,000 shares, who mostly are amazed with the number of Grab points Ng amassed.

It was reported that Ng spends RM10,000 with GrabPay every month, however, the amount is meant for the entire family, not just for himself.

He said that GrabPay has a limit of RM10,000 in spending in a month.

He added that he has avoided using the points collected for the entire year.

Ng would also top up the GrabPay Wallet with a Maybank credit card, which grants five times the points and opting to pay with GrabPay for three times the reward points.

He claimed that the method will easily get him to earn 6.5 times more Grab points.
