Man caught for stealing RM1,200 from mother’s bedroom

MIRI: A son, who allegedly stole RM1,200 from his mother’s bedroom, was arrested by the police yesterday.

According to Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, it is learned that the 34-year-old suspect had come to his parents’ house in Kampung Muhibbah, Kuala Baram here at around 7am.

“The suspect then went to his parents’ room and ransacked his mother’s belonging.

“The victim’s mother, who later realised her money was missing, immediately lodged a police report,” he said.

Acting on information received, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Department apprehended the suspect at the house at around 1pm.

He was taken to Miri Central police station lock-up for further investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft.
