MIRI: A 39-year-old has been detained by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division here yesterday morning for drug possession. The unemployed man was arrested nearby a quadruplex flat at Lorong 3 in Permyjaya.
Police also seized drugs, believed to be syabu weighing 18.24g from the suspect. The drugs are estimated to be valued at RM3,880.
The suspect is currently being detained under police custody for questioning.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect also has previous drug related offences under Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
