BETONG: A local man managed to escape with minor injuries after his pick-up truck skidded and crashed into the bushes near Tanu junction here on Wednesday (Jan 25).

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Betong station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at around 7.15 pm.

On arrival, they confirmed the accident and found that the man’s vehicle had turned sideways in the bushes by the roadside.

The 25-year-old driver, who was travelling to Betong town, only sustained light injuries to his face and hands.

It was reported that the man got out of his vehicle on his own before the team arrived at the scene.

The team only administered first aid to the man’s injuries before he was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
