KUCHING: A 29-year-old local man was brought before the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday on three counts of illegal narcotics possession while in remand at Puncak Borneo Prison last October.

However, no plea was taken from the accused Nur Firdaus Azaniah Osman in relation to the three charges read in front of Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.

He was prosecuted under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952 and is punishable under Section 39A(1) of the same Act.

Regarding the second and third counts, he is accused of having 5.30 grams of Ketamine and 1.43 grams of Methyleneoxy Amphetamine (MDA) in his possession .

He was charged under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for the second and third counts, and can be punished under Section 12(3) of the same act.

Magistrate Syarifah scheduled a re-mention of the case for Dec 15 pending results of the chemical analysis.
