KUCHING: A 30-year-old man believed to have fallen from the third floor of a shopping mall here today has died.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail confirmed the incident occurred around 1.20pm.

“The man, an OKU (person with disability) cardholder, was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“According to witnesses, the man looked depressed before he jumped from the third floor of the mall.

“He suffered severe head injuries and a broken left leg,” Aidi said adding that the case is being classified as sudden death.

Meanwhile, Kuching police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said according to the man’s family, he has been having mental health issues and has been treated at Kota Sentosa Hospital.

There was no evidence of foul play.
