MIRI: A 19-year-old man was discovered dead in the driver’s seat of his car on Sunday morning (Dec 6).

The car was parked in front of an eatery in an industrial area in Tudan.

The dead man’s co-workers, who discovered his body around 7am, informed the police and called an ambulance for help.

They had called his name multiple times from outside the car and even shook the vehicle but there was no response.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Working the night shift, he was supposed to leave his workplace early that morning.

According to sources, hours earlier, the man had sent voice messages on WhatsApp to his co-workers and friends, asking them to look after his family because he was going to ‘sleep forever’.

Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said that there were no signs of foul play.

“A CCTV footage taken from a nearby building found he left the shop where he was working at 11.26pm and got into his car,” he said.
