KUCHING: A man was found unconscious in a hotel room along Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli here yesterday.
Sources indicated that the victim in his 20s was found by the hotel staff, following a request by the victim’s friend who felt something was amiss after the victim could not be contacted for the past two days.
The friend rang up the reception and requested for the staff to inspect victim’s room which, then led to the discovery of the victim lying motionless in the room, this prompted the staff to contact the authorities (hospital and police).
Paramedics summoned to the scene later pronounced the victim dead and handed over the body to the police for further action.
The body has been taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary for autopsy.
Kuching District Police deputy chief Supt Ismail Mahmood when contacted confirmed the case.
“As of now, police has classified the case as sudden death and investigations are ongoing,” said Ismail.
