SERIAN: A man was found dead in his house at Taman Pasir here with gunshot wounds to his chest last Friday.
District police chief DSP Aswandy Anis said police received a call around 5.55pm from the deceased’s son regarding the incident.
“A police team was immediately despatched to the scene and found the deceased on his bed.
“Investigations found that there were no signs of a struggle at the scene,” he said.
It is believed that the deceased, who is in his 50s, shot himself earlier.
The police also found a note written by the deceased. However, the contents of the note were not disclosed as investigations are still ongoing.
Aswandy said the body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for post-mortem and the case is being classified as sudden death (SDR).
