SERIAN: The missing man was found dead under the rubble of a collapsed building, last Tuesday morning (May 3).

Serian OCPD DSP Aswandy Anis stated that the victim’s body was discovered by a team during a search operations.

He said it was believed the victim was cleaning work  when the building collapsed on him.

“The victim, Rone Medin, 54, was found crushed under the collapsed building by the search team.

“His body was extricated from the rubble with the help of an excavator.

“The victim suffered injuries to the head and to the whole body and was believed to have died instantly,” said the chief.

The body was sent to Serian Hospital for further investigation, and the case, as of now, is classified as sudden death.

Rone was reported missing on May 2 at 5.15pm by his wife when he did not return home from his work at the old Public Works Department (PWD) quarters since April 30.

A search operation was conducted on May 2; however, the condition was dark and the operations was suspended.

The operations continued on May 3 with the help of villagers of Kampung Taee, and the victim was found that morning.
