MUKAH: A body of a 55-year-old man was found hanging in the living room by his nephew at a house located at Kampung Teh here this morning.
The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Gu Ming Kuok, who worked as a woodcutter.
Mukah District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said a 19-year-old boy discovered the body after his mother asked him to check on the man who had not come out of his house in the morning as usual.
The man had hanged himself with a rope around his neck in the living room of his house.
“His remains were brought to Mukah Hospital for a post-mortem and further action,” added Jimmy in a statement.
He said the boy, who filed a police report, stayed in house nearby and was a relative of the man.
The body was kept at the Mukah Hospital Mortuary for further action and the case was classified as sudden death.
