LAWAS: A man, who went missing last Saturday while collecting rattan in a forest at Kampung Long Lutok, was found safe and sound yesterday.

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said Samuel Suang, 53, was discovered by villagers involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operation around 9am.

He was found safe near Ulu Sungai Long Lutok, within a 3km radius from Kampung Long Lutok.

Samuel, who was taken back to his home at 9.30am, is now resting and in stable condition.

Last Saturday, he went into the jungle with his uncle to collect rattan.

When his uncle returned to the village the same day, he realised that Samuel was missing.

A search was conducted by the villagers immediately.

When the operation resumed on Sunday, there was still no sign of Samuel.

On Monday, the villagers managed to find his shirt and pants near a river.

After the villagers failed to locate him, Samuel’s son lodged a missing person’s report that night to seek help from the authorities.
