Man gets four months for trespass

KUCHING: A local man was sentenced to four months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here, today, for trespassing on the property of an even management company last August.

Musa, 48, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 447 of the Penal Code which was read before Magistrate Zaiton Anuar.

He committed the act at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, at around 3:30pm, on Aug 20.

According to the facts of the case, on Aug 21 around 12 midnight, the complainant found the rear window of his employer’s office forced open.

Upon entering the office, the complainant found it ransacked.

He lodged a police report on behalf of his employer who is currently in Singapore.

A day after the incident, police managed to arrest the accused at Taman Malihah Jaya.

Investigations showed that the accused had entered the office without permission and the CCTV footage clearly showed the accused’s actions.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang requested the court to mete out an appropriate punishment to reflect the severity of the case.
